Biography

Elizabeth is a practical , highly experienced and compassionate Speech Pathologist who puts families at the centre of all she does.

We believe that you know your child best, and it is with this ethos that we work with you to support your child’s communication growth. Elizabeth enjoys being an integral part of the fun of learning, and uses a range of both tabletop , floor time games, as well as computer-based learning aids. You will be sent home practice which is both easily accessible and developed in consultation with you, depending on your child’s needs and your families capacity for home practice. Elizabeth enjoys the challenge of making every session for your child a fun, accessible learning experience. She is also a big believer in measurable change and is very transparent around the tools she is using and how the treatment is progressing for your child.

Elizabeth studied at Sydney University completing her Bachelor of Applied Science in Speech Pathology in 1991. Since that time she has worked in many varied roles in both teaching hospitals , private practice , community clinics and university level lecturing and practical support on placement covering all years of undergraduate Speech Pathology study.

Her work has encompassed both adult and child focuses, giving her an edge to understand the complexities of communication and swallowing difficulties throughout the lifespan. Elizabeth is a certified Hanan practioner, we can offer the latest methods to encourage and support your baby and toddler to begin to communicate. If you’re concerned that your little one isn’t yet speaking or seems to be frustrated in their communication attempts, we can assess your baby to give you clear practical ways to increase their communication success. Elizabeth is a certified Sounds Write practitioner who can offer phonics based literacy training method thoroughly researched with a proven track record around the globe.

Elizabeth is also a mum, and deeply understands the challenges and rewards of balancing home and work life as well as supporting children with speech therapy needs. In her spare time Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her family at the beach, walking her dogs and spending time on her hobbies of photography and music.
